Well I did work super-hard on this one so I'm gonna make a third and final submission of it
But seriously though, the character himself is a little hard to appreciate in the reduced-for-dA-sized final artwork (which is here ) so I thought I'd crop him and show in better detail here, it's still probably half the size as the original, but easily clear enough

You're incredibly talented
I could never, at my current skill level and general lack of patience, ever do something this large scale, imaginative and detailed 
I do however have only one gripe with the image, and you probably noticed this but, your anatomy is off. For example, the thickness of the neck, positioning of the head, some small facial proportions and the left hand (right side of the image). These are small things, but they still caught my eye.
But to reiterate, you are beyond me in skill to be sure

Still have only done about a dozen serious human figure attempts in my life, so I'm glad at least the rest is impressive and the flaws relatively minor

Hooooooly craaaap.....such tiny detail in the undershirt/chainmail. 
About the only thing I can say would need improvement is the hand. The middle finger looks like its sticking out of his palm, underneath the ring finger (which looks like it could also be a middle finger. Its not terribly noticeable if you're not paying attention to it, though.

Someone else said that about the hand too. I tried to have his middle finger pointing pretty downwards, with the other blocking some of it's view...Hopefully it makes better sense now

That's incredibly cool Mat. One of your best people paintings so far in my opinion. I like how the wings turned out and I adore the details. I really respect how long it's taken you to make this.

-Drools- The detail on the armor is amazing, especially the chain-mail links. How long did that take you? Actually, I have to applaud your attention to detail overall, the fog-fade effect you used as part of the background is very realistic. The only thing off is the hands, but those are the biggest pains to draw anyway. Awesome!

The chainmail pattern I kinda cheated on...I drew part of it and duplicated it over and over, then warped the pattern into place

You have done everything very good.
Only some details are what keep missing.
For example,his nails.They're too small.Also,the middle finder should be a bit higher.Seems like it's been added under his palm.Also,the first finger seems like something went wrong after the glove part is over.Do the same pose with your own hand.You'll see what I mean.
Also,congratulations for the lips!This is the first time you make them look natural!
The rest is very well done.

I tried posing my own hands when drawing these actually...Was almost impossible to hold them like that for more than five seconds at a time, since it killed me 
I hate drawing lips! these were hard but I agree they're the first I'm actually happy with

I believe that staying a bit more while watching carefully what went were should help you more than having quick looks.Try to edit it if you want.
(That's why skeleton parts are useful sometimes)
About lips,there are interesting tutorial videos on youtube.(I remember having trouble with lips too,but I guess they're ok now).[link]
