Description
Well it's a week late but this was supposed to be my birthday submission for this year. Almost wasn't going to bother with it anymore since after so many of these related scenes being made it was getting harder to think up something that looked new yet still stuck to the theme of the others, then this idea popped in my head just a day or two before it was "due" and so I went for it. Something more surreal this time, so don't bother questioning the physics of it (like that floating ball of land atop the middle) it's just meant to look coolThe idea did evolve over time, the black hole up top was eventually just going to be a Saturn-like planet instead but this felt more unique and dynamic and even a little more eerie, and it was a good way to substitute a light source for the scene too with something other than a sun. Most of the work was done in Vue with a little help from C4D and Photoshop.

As soon as I laid eyes on that black hole, I had the feeling that Interstellar was involved in the inspiration -- such a cool look to a black hole... Er, its accretion disk, anyway.
Beautiful as ever, priteeboy. Though with that first planet in the Gargantua system scarred in my memory, I was definitely about to question the physics involved -- until your artist's comment reminded me about how sometimes a picture just has to look cool.

Yeah, there was Interstellar influence here. I think that movie has changed the way people imagine black holes now.Β
I remember questioning the physics in the movie too, like the giant wave that came and went on one of the planets, surely the water would all be rushing towards it before it arrived and the characters would have been dragged towards it, and if it were close enough for gravity to pull the water that high then I'd assume it would be tidally locked to Gargantua and in which case the huge mountain of water would just stay in the same spot (man that would be even weirder to think about!) also I never got the explanation behind the ice planet which had what appeared to be floating rocks hidden in clouds. But I remember talking about this with someone else who knew a little more about the movie before, and they said that the director did create some physics of their own just for the sake of coolness, much like what I did here

This was the other planet that they missed orbiting Gargantua.

could exist a world like this, whit a black hole like a sun?

Planets could orbit black holes from a safe distance. I don't know if they would be "bright" enough to light up a planet like this though, one like this might be a rarity

If the planetary body orbited a Jupiter like planet then tidal heating could allow life and oceans like europa, or titan? Maybe europa.
Then life could live in these systems.

if we are speaking about a giant planet yeah i agree, but whit a black hole, could be another history, im be worried about the gravity waves and how could affect to our biologics and chemical in our bodies, expouses to the extreme gravity and radiation then a black hole generates

If there's a planet with a moon that's both orbiting the black hole with an ocean that could create life without sunlight or underwaterfrom the core

I think I might be able to do a rough explanation of the look
The black hole made the floating rock arrive at equilibrium meaning at the centre of both gravitates
And the rest of the island is the black holes gravity orbiting the mini island that there are
Before you comment on me this is picture theory meaning it's not real science I'm thinking of the science of the picture in its world

I think someone else suggested a similar concept to that. Would have to be one incredibly finely-balanced situation though (and doesn't explain how the rock is a perfect sphere either, but like you said this is just fun theories here )
