First and foremost, the original work is byI have just done the colors for a contest she is putting on for her uncolored Avatar fanart.

I printed off the original with my printer that barely has any ink left, so everything was pale green.
So I went back over it with ink, and sharpie'd the boxes to make them more definite. The colors were done with prismacolor colored pencils.I HAD to do this one... it just makes me laugh! (my 4 yr old cracks up everytime she looks at it, too. "They're so silly!" she says.) The expressions are premium, and the last panel reminds me of one of Calvin's (from Calvin and Hobbes) destruction of the world/school/etc. daydreams. Totally cracks me up.
Anyway, let me know what you think of the colors, and stop by to let her know what you think of her idea!

Great work w/ the coloring. The building in the back of the first 4 panels could use some more saturation, but everything else is great. Reminds me of a children's book illustration, or maybe an ilustration from that magazine Highlights for Kids.

Okay, so Im not doing the fishies any more (they just proved too difficult to deal with) but I got an even better idea with the Sokka faces which I will hopefully post this Sunday. Thanks for your vote of confidence!

Right now, Ive got two ideas for Sokka's faces. Both are good ideas (at least I hope so ^_^) but I dont know if Ill be allowed into the contest because I did, not really editing, but additions to the work. But Ill ask Rufftoon before I submit it. I just hope its allowed *crosses fingers*

Yeah, Rufftoon's really nice with her stuff but I think Ill send a note to her, asking about my idea. Not that I dont trust you or anything but I dont want to say out loud what my idea is. Someone might try to steal it 
The ideas' I have arnt that great but Im pretty proud of them. My drawing skills suck and my coloring skills are only slightly better so these ideas that I get are all I have to be proud of ^_^

You do have to work with the ideas you get, and over time they become more and more frequent. I'm suddenly hitting a phase where I have them coming to me more often. At least, they come to me and I can make them work. It still surprises me everytime they do.

Sadly, the only way I can work out my ideas is through fanfiction (because my writing skills are a million times better than my art skills) But my inspiration for writing comes and goes at random. I currently have three unfinished, short Avatar fanfics sitting on my pen drive, waiting to be completed along with a number of other fics for other fandoms. Its frustrating because I want to finish them but, if I write when I have little-no inspiriation, then my writing sucks. So I have to wait for inspiration which could be hours or months away
But Ill just roll with the punches (is that the expression?) and work with what I got. These poor fics will get posted some time!

I like the comic because I think the idea is better but this one has more detail. But both are decent, I think. I did what I could.

My scanner gave me more trouble than I anticipated but Im happy with the end result. I doubt Ill win the contest but it still was fun to post something. Thanks again for all your encouragement! :glomps:

Thanks! I appreciate that you think it has some depth... it's been quite a while since I colored anything with colored pencils, but I've always liked them. Shading and blending seems to come a bit more naturally with them for me. And I'm all for the laughter! I'm glad I wasn't the only one who noticed that... she has another [link] that was a bit more purposefully C&H, that I truly enjoy!
