Spooky season is almost upon us, so you know what that means: time to dust off the ref sheet I've been sitting on and get my spooky deer halfling out into the world! While developing my Toyhouse and planning out story ideas, I've also been collecting all the worthwhile art from the phone I replaced last year and cleaning them up a bit to upload. Even though I finished this piece back in 2022, I'm still really pleased with how it came out and excited to finally share it!

I adopted this character almost exactly a year ago from www.deviantart.com/nikachyy/ar… . It's hard for me to believe it's been that long! I did make some subtle changes to the design, but the original palette was too gorgeous to change all that much. I plan to flesh him out even more in the future, but for now, enjoy this small little burb. Do note that the Equestria he lives in is a little darker than canon, with no mane 6 or Elements of Harmony.

An Appleloosan with a penchant for running the local tavern out of whiskey and a gift for communing with spirits! Jack pays his bills by serving as a [rather unscrupulous] medium between the living world and the afterlife. His prices are considered exorbitant by most — but really, who wouldn't be willing to give up everything for a chance to say that final goodbye they missed out on? He'll be the first to remind you, in that slight drawl of his, that his skills aren't exactly a dime a dozen. In his eyes, he's worth every bit (and then some). He's witty, charismatic, and oh-so sleazy, and that serves him just fine.
Despite his questionable business practices and unknown shady past, Jack is well-loved by the community patronage, and he remains the go-to recommendation for the wayward and desperate. Ponies have traveled from across Equestria to meet this legendary fellow — and, though their wallets may be considerably lighter on the return trip home, Jack always makes good on his promises to reunite them with their loved ones, if only for a short while. Though he's shrouded in infamy, he takes keeping his end of the bargain shockingly seriously for someone as outwardly carefree as himself.

Unbeknownst to the general populous, Jack has quite the intimate relationship with a certain forest spirit in the Everfree. What lies ahead for the pair remains to be seen...
