A picture for Maetch, for being my very first ever patron! Β It's Anomaly... standing over her former GC-161-drenched self.I was surprised that i hadn't drawn her since late 2012. Β How time flies.

Has it really been that long ago that I was some little kid with nothing special or unique going for her? Every time I come back to New Paradise, I remember just how simple things used to be, back when it was known as Paradise Valley. Dad with work at PV-Chem to keep food on the table, Mom with her PR business, and Annie with all her inventions and dreams. I was just trying to find my own path in life, that simple, ordinary girl who lacked the genius and business-savvy of her family, and it frustrated me to no end that they had something to look towards and I didn't. But no matter how frustrated I got at them, I knew they always meant the best for me. Then the accident happened...
Now look at me! I can fire lightning with enough voltage to power small cities. I can lift an entire aircraft carrier by thought alone and still be delicate enough to prevent a single wine glass from tipping over. My shapeshifting is so precise that I can make myself as thin as a piece of string, yet stronger than diamond. Power like this could drive anybody crazy (and believe me, I've seen that happen), but I'm still that same old girl I always was, personality-wise. You know why? Well, Annie asks me "How do you be so powerful... and yet act like it's nothing?" and I tell her "Because I had you and our parents guiding my way."

I like that... unlimited power, but still down-to-earth.
Have you ever read Stephen King's Firestarter? ( I know there's a movie too, but I've never seen it...) the part of the book I really liked is that Charlie starts off with the ability to light fires... when she's captured by the government and held for a year or two, her power increases exponentially. But it's still something mostly manageable. But one scientist insist that she should be immediately put to death, because her power will only continue to grow, and that by the time she's a young woman, she could " crack the Earth in half like a dinner plate."
He's proven right, because once she escapes from them at the end of the book, she looks up to the Sun and realizes that she can touch it with her power, and that very soon almost nothing will be beyond her reach.
But of course, she had a good upbringing, so there's nothing to worry about.

Good thing for Alex, too. In her case as Anomaly, she could telekinetically pull the moon out of orbit if (God forbid) she got REALLY pissed.
