That would have been cool. That should have been a thing -- Rita and Zedd turning the heroes or random side characters into monsters, instead of just summoning them from nowhere.

Yes.... like in some seasons of Sailor Moon, the monsters were created from people. I liked that. At other times, they just came from wherever.
