So, this little experiment began when I asked my friend to whip up some images of a pretty lady in Stable Diffusion, to see if there was anything there. The images it spat out were.... eh, pretty primitive (1). But I liked the figures, and melded parts of them into a rudimentary digital painting (2). Then I ran that though Deep Dream Generator, which evolved it a bit and also changed her ethnicity for some reason (3)? So I fiddled with it a bit more, and ended up with something that was pretty okay (4).

This AI shit is scary. I fear it. But I must understand it.

I keep thinking back to 20 years ago, when Photoshop use became widespread and people started posting images on sites like DeviantART and Elfwood. I loved it, but I knew some artists back then who in school who said "bah! This online thing is just a fad! Digital art is not real art!"

Clearly, they were wrong. And I vowed to never become that type of person.
