Nice model, nice lighting, nice use of the Kitchenprobe.hdr (the right one too, see too many people using that washed out old fake)
Great Scene...

nice work! especially in such a short time...
kinda reminds me of japanese vinyl figures, like those by Akira Noguchi.
the animation was good, but I have to agree with ssj5mark - his flight off at the end isn't natural enough.
keep it up!

ha, looking at the HDRI based lighting it's no doubt you excluded render time from your stats
The creature looks brilliant, seems to have a lot of personality, and the modeling / texturing is very good. One crit would be that he is a bit hard to see against the light source.
I think if you spun around and looked at him with the light behind you so he was a bit more exposed he'd come out looking a lot better. I'd also have the character larger in the frame.
Good luck with the challenge. I trust you're working on something for MachineFlesh ?

this is superb - only two things I think aren't quite perfect: on the metal item (nut and bolt?) in the foreground, the edges are aliased, and the center of the picture has a great deal of noise.
Altogether though, a fantastic piece and well deserving of DD.

Awwww! I think he's really cute. Sort of reminds me of a mixture between "The Nightmare before X-mas" and "Monster's Inc". He sort of seems very lonely on the pic. As if no one wants to play with him because he's so clumsy and always breaks things...
He's a funny critter!

It was a competition just for fun ... no real winner ... no prizes.
Just a modeling contest where you can see what you can model in a timeline bethween 1 - 4 hours.

really really great work! I love the animation. The end of it kinda slightly takes away from the animation as a whole, but it's still great. hehe.
Good luck in the contest!

Lovely rendering! I have to agree with what someone's said before, though - some of the spheres DO look like they're floating. The composition is very good, and I like the way the light affects the whole picture. Nice job!
