Ive been having a lot of trouble making new things lately so i tried my hand at something already made. I might be late on the gen 1 starters redesign train but i thought it would be fun to give my take on the matter.yes i know squirtle looks like tortouga, someone else already made the perfect squirtle redesign so i had to make due.

They have that gen 1 simplicity but still have a variety of details which make them very unique

I was just saying today, something much more sensible than what the detective pikachu series did with visuals would be to actually reinterpret things as realistic animals..
this isn't exactly that, but it is a restyling and I liiike it.

I think it keeps the mostly monochromaticΒ color schemes of the original while adding more interesting details. Its almost a return to form even. I know a lot of people on 4chan want the monster aspect to come back and i think these embody that in the same way that they did back in gen 1.
