The best part about this is that I FINALLY get to see a little bit of your process. I would totally shit a brick if you ever posted a step-by-step, let alone a tutorial or something like that.

Question: The colour of the background seems to be the same colour as the highlights on the coloured portions. Is this intentional? As in, are the highlights merely low opacity portions of the painting, allowing the back colour to shine through, or did you simply choose a similar colour to use for highlights, or am I completely batsh*t crazy for over analyzing how this was done?

You are batshit crazy

'Cause I gots ta know how EVERYTHING'S done. It's part of the batshit crazy thing. One week, I learn to weld, the next, I try and figure out how to make phosphorescent paint. Beside, if I ever get back to colouring, it might come in handy to know some more techniques. Something I can tell you must know something of, at least so I gather from traipsing around your gallery.

Of course, I know that my English is bad, but believe that the idea or what I say is understood, or no? That is not impediment for whatever it wants to express what it generates an artist of DA,to be able to express an opinion. Its work is good, and I enjoy it.
