It kinda reminds me a bit of Adriene Tomine, he does some awesome stuff.

Though Tomine's line is way more elegant, more flexible, since he works mostly with a pencil, and the subjects are different, sadly mundane, they range in the category of the unexceptional, the unspectacular and the passionately boring, depicting sentimental journeys of self-conscious characters in doubt and/or in a confrontation with their direct surroundings.
Reminds me that I'm anxious to read the third and last part of "White on Rice". I like how the story starts and how he suggests a distance between his way of putting emotions on paper and the generic violin-implemented way movies tend to deal with sentiments. Plus the relationships between characters are so efficiently framed an timed...
