Another entry into this damn fun Streetfighter JAM. I couldn't help it - Ryu has always been my favourite and I thought he'd look cool as an older dude (still in awesome shape!) and with a beard...
Ok some some confusion has arisen and I guess I should have been clearer...while SF Destiny is set 30 years later, the idea here is that RYU continued his adventures for 15 years or so AFTER SFIII, then suddenly he disappeared completely, and has now returned 30 years after SFIII (15 years after his disappearance) With superior inner control and perfect balance of power - Phew!

I was going to comment on this before. It's a great drawing. I really like the anatomy, and I love the back story. It reminds me of a conversation we had ages ago about why Ryu was more of a badass than Akuma and was always destined to be able to completely destroy him in a fight.

Thanks chimp. Anatomy is so hard - I'm always trying to refine my understanding, but still have a long way to go. The hard part is that each person is a little different in their proportions and genetics, so there is never a 'perfect' model for musculature. Already I see heaps of little issues in this that I would improve next time.
Yeah, Ryu is the best. I still love the simplicity of the character and how he is just pure and uncomplicated.

I think there's a typo in the bio (it should be 30 years rather than 15, as 30 years after SFIII is when the SFD takes places)

Well I actually meant that he was still doing stuff for 15 years or so after SFIII - you know, travelling, fighting etc. - THEN he disappeared. Now he has returned 15 years later, so 30 years has passed.
I guess it wasn't clear. While I've always been a huge fan of playing SF (particularly Third Strike) I'm not an expert on the canon - does this not work?
