Description
-1-Disrobe calendar
Bare, uncircled dates exposed
Waiting to be filled
-2-
5 o’clock shadow
Patches of dusk gathering
Over glooming clouds
-3-
Last pinch of summer
The frustrating gift
Of a parasite
-4-
Transparent tadpoles
Racing down misted windows
Metamorphosis
-5-
Horror found amongst
Magazines on carp fishing:
‘Your Guide to Christmas’
-6-
Rugby victory
Beer sloshing for balding men
Nights of hollering
-7-
Billowing willow
Twisting, acrobatic branches
Veil lined features
-8-
Tangible blindness
Streetlights burn in dizzy lines
Synthetic fireflies
-9-
Raindrops flickering
On chewing gum concrete like
A black and white film
-10-
Traffic light trees glow
Red-topped as the Daily Star
That they will become
-11-
Cracks in eggshell dawn
The washed-out yolk, glistening,
Peers through hazy white
-12-
Solemn clouds hanging
Over balding wooded hills
Like shame-faced toupees
-13-
Broken umbrella
Oil-clad cormorant hunched
On sodden carpet
-14-
Rooftop jackdaw moot
Proud chattering echoes in
Satellite dishes
-15-
Bulging black spider
Macabre marionette
Lurks in clammy strings
-16-
Pause at roadworks sign
Fluorescent Oompa-Loompas
Croon crude catcalls
-17-
The wind’s shoulder up
Against an unbending bridge
Invisible vandal
-18-
Dots of aeroplanes
Drawing parallel lines on
The blank slate of dawn
-19-
No nicotine fix
With hazy huffs of crisp shade
Chilblains burn fingers
-20-
Amber refracted
By the outstretched outlines of
Dusk’s stained-glass window
-21-
Leaves, filthy and damp
Piled up in decaying dunes
Soil private pavements
-22-
Drowsy feet bathe in
Bracing grass, soaked in pearls of
Dew or melted frost?
-23-
A siege holds this house
Cold air storming my senses,
I battle the door
-24-
A pigeon-backed sky,
Vulgar and lacklustre, lingers
Over just-washed cars
-25-
Pines, dead and ruddy
Desperation to conform
Overcomes instincts
-26-
War memorial
Stark pinnacle rupturing
The uniformed clouds
-27-
Flamenco dancers
Tumble as the trees rustle
Like hushed castanets
-28-
Regal oak tree strides
Confident against the wind
Defiantly green
-29-
My shadow trickles
Down my back, along the road
A fleeting snail trail
-30-
Seated on the cold
Pavement, I watch hasty night
Waking neon lights
-31-
Autumn grows weary
As bed sheets hover through town;
Winter – trick or treat?

Thank you! I like that thought I was certainly considering doing a haiku a day for a whole year, although I'm a bit behind with December

Congrats on finishing the 'wrimo. I think of all the ones I've read, yours makes the most of alliteration and assonance Looking forward to seeing what you can do outside of the 5-7-5 format.
All the best!

Thank you so much!
I don't know if I've told you this before, but your avatar upsets me. If I have told you before, it just goes to show how consistently upsetting it really is.

It's not blue. No need to be upset.
Yours shows the true temperament of rabbits

I don't care if there's no need to be upset, I'm going to do it anyway! So there!
The people need to be warned. Their excessive fluffiness is merely to lull you into a false sense of security...

Sweetness! I love how it's so vague...
Actually I didn't read all of them, but I love it enough to it!
