I started thinking about who would win in an "Assimilation Race".The contestants are:
-The Borg (Star Trek)
Assimilation Tactics-The borg assimilate any life, though only ones that have something they want (ussually technology). They ignore all alien stimuli unless it poses a threat or can be useful to them.
-Xenomorphs (Alien series)
Assimilation Tactics-Xenomorphs use any living thing with the right attributes as a host. All other life is destroyed at all costs. Non-threatening technology is generally ignored.
-Ing (Metroid Prime 2: Echoes)
Assimilation Tactics-Ing corrupt all life until they virtually are ing. Useful technology is absorbed by larger ing so that they posess that machines abilities.
-X (Metroid Fusion)
Assimilation Tactics-Any biological components can be mimiced by the x. Once mimiced, they absorb the victim and rearrange its molecular structure to make more x.
-Symbiotes (Marvel Universe)
Assimilation Tactics-Almost any matter can be host to the alien symbiotes . They radiate an aura that increases the abilities of nearby organisms and soon takes over.
-Aparoids (Star Fox: Assualt)
Assimilation Tactics-Aparoids assimilate all life and technology and replace their biostructure with inorganic components. They make all things living or mechanical into artificial life.

Really neat, but what about the Zerg from Starcraft and the Leviathans from Metroid Prime 3: Corruption (or just Phazon in general)?

very tough assimilation race here. The asteroids are vulnerable to the Ing and Symbiote, and possibly a swarm of xenomorph. The xenomorph does seem to have the strongest upper hand. their acidic blood would kill the x and the queen's control would overrule the mind control of the symbiote and assimilation by borg, and swarms of them could devestate the asteroids. as for borgs, they are the most vulnerable of all, they still possess biological matter meaning, X, symbiote, Asteroid, And xenomorph can still host on them. symbiotes are one in the same with the X it would be an endless battle to destroy and replace one anothers' DNA..... very well thought up Assimilation race. even i can't think up a winner and i'm a huge nut for all this stuff. lol

I'd say it all depends how fast the Xenomorphs can wipe out the Borg. If they can't eliminate all Borg before they adapt, they're screwed. Symbiotes would prove interesting additions as well.
