Excuse the pun, it's a joke that a friend of mine made during the livestream...
Lagoona Blue and Gil Weber, my favorite couple of Monster High. They give me so many feels, I love the love they have for each other and how they overcome the prejudice of their people to be together. I have so many questions about the two 'races' and I want to know more. More than the head canons I've come up with that is! I feel like the differences between the fresh water fish people and sea people are subtle, but definitely there and I find the clashing of the two very interesting. Maybe that's why I love these two so much!
Thank you to all that watched the stream with me, I had so much fun! And also to every person who comments, favs or watches. You guys make me so very happy I cannot even explain! Thank you a thousand times, this one is for you guys!

Yes I totally agree! I was just rewatching the last few webisodes and its so great to see how far their relationship has come and to see how much Gil has changed. He's so much more confidant and strong than he was at the begining

Yes! I love that pairing and I want to see them get together! Honestly though, I think Cleo and Deuce are in the biggest need of some tlc right now. I think they're getting ready to focus more on Cleo right now with all the Bloom and Gloom stuff. Her back story is like sooooooo good and after reading her doll diaries I was like, Can I hug you? Like omg!

Oh my goodness this turned out so well! I love the anatomy you focused on; their positions are both light and heavy - very well done!
I find the colors both interesting and pleasing to the eyes, and the shading is very expressive and indicative of their weight. Love it!

I really tried my best to embed them into the scene, i kept going back it because it kept looking like they had just been pasted on to a wash....I hope it doesn't still look that way, that's something I've been having trouble with and am trying to improve on, placing characters into an environment.

I didn't even notice if they seem out of place, their shadows and the reflected colors on them from being in the water make them look like they are there.
If you are worried about this in the future, it's also possible to change the background so that there is a better balance both in hue and in the right amount of detail. This one I don't think has that problem, though! C:

Well, this piece is beautiful and really moving. I love it.
But Gil in the shows/movies is such a wuss. I really did not like him in Skull Shores. Which upset me, because I liked him in 13 Wishes, but I feel he really needs to grow a pair. He's so bogged down by his racial parents that there's no other aspect of his personality to be seen. It's always "my parents this...." And it's an old routine, I feel that Mattel has bled what they could from it but now they need to change it up somehow. Either he needs to stand up and declare his love for Lagoona is more powerful than his parents approval, or there's a new sea monster at school that seams like a better match and causes some....waves. LOL
But he's a beautiful doll, I bought him once he hit the shelves, spur of the moment, never seen him before and was not disappointed by his details and coloring.

Yes I agree, in Skull Shores is almost painful to watch because of how he acts. But he does overcome his fear of the ocean, his parents rules, and moving forward in their relationship. I feel like his character (and also Heath, of course my two favs) are very inconsistent from movie to movie and webisode to webisode. But I feel like Mattel/the writers are getting better with the consistency and with strengthening Gil's character. Since 13 Wishes does happen later in the continuity of the series he does in fact seem much more independent and strong. And if they continue with that I fell like it would make his character so much more interesting as we would be able to see the transition from such a fail scardy cat-fish to a strong and independent monster and a reliable and devoted boyfriend to Lagoona. Fingers crossed for that!
