Yeah, i have all forms of OS's. They all serve their purposes, but I am more a creative type and don't play video games on the computer so for me it works. BTW, no amount of money makes the difference between how much better linux or unix or macintosh is to windows OS.

Wait, what? Lol. That's hardware, not software. If you switched form a PC, the only other option is that you switched to a Mac. Therefore meaning, paying more than a PC's hardware would be. I have a PC and I'm running OS X 10.6.3, Windows 7, and I had linux. lol

Well, I do have a "hackintosh" that was once Windows only. Same hardware, just figured out how to add OS X.

I also paid twice as much for my German sports car than my Japanese sports car. It's not a matter of price but I think you've lost that point.

...Oh my gosh. Do you really not get it? Lol. Mac's cost a lottt more than PC's. So regardless of the fact, you will pay more for a Mac when switching from a PC. Unless your PC is a couple thousand dollars or +. It's not that hard to figure out, and it's not the same as cars..

I'll let you know how it goes, I only had one since January and have had a faulty screen twice and Apple just replaced it for me outright. Besides getting a dud, the computer kicks ass. I will never buy a Windows OS ever again!

Well, there are 3 main things. First is Mac's superior appearance — higher DPI than the majority of monitors, attractive programming, better alternative appearances for nearly everything, etc. (Don't forget that even the people who design Windows commercials do so on an Apple.)
Secondly, the programs are far more intuitive — all are common work environments, crash rate (for me) at 5% of my Windows PCs, have smaller foot prints, no registry and therefore no registry editing, etc. And it might sound ridiculous but I have far more productivity features native to my Mac OS than my Windows OS — so it's a work beast!
Finally, the need for a antiviral/monitoring program is significantly reduced. I just don't run Norton or any other resource hog on my computer so I don't get the lag as I had on my Windows OS PCs. (Yeah I know all the counter arguments for why TO have these programs, but really the majority of experts will tell you that they are silly.)
Hope this provides a more in-depth response than previously noted. BTW, I'm no shill for Apple based on my experiences thus far but I am very happy with the OS so far and will likely never be a Windows owner again. Yeah, it's that damn good!
