The strongest dark side user on this side of that galaxy's History...easily one of the strongest final boss in videogame history
(had to cheat, with the pause FX, to beat him.. lol)...
(oh well, just didn't want anything to do with dark side powers sooo... and besides that's using the Force too... in a way...

Not exactly the tactical genius Revan was, especially if you heed what this reviewer says about him.
"Carth says Admiral Saul’s leadership is about half the reason Malak’s been doing so well in the war, which I personally don’t agree with. He’s probably closer to “all”, because Malak’s a doofus."

Yet SW ain't really bout strategy in general (the only true 'Strategos' in the whole spacetime of that galaxy far far away being Admiral Thrawn)...
SW, for better or worse, is a very simplistic (even more so as what I like to call the dark 'Pixey' empire has taken over) universe.
Most battles resolve with sheer force (be it troops or Force powers) and in this particular case, since Malak 'inherited' Revan's Sith forces, he actually didn't even have to be good at strategy... he didn't even have to be smart...
He's not impressive like that at all (in the comics, he's just a hot headed war monger grunt who tries to steal the hero's gf).
Still he's one of the most powerful dark side users ever...
I played quite a bunch of Star wars games... no game boss has ever given me so much of a hard time (actually that's like ever in my entire history of game playing, all licences included)...
Using a maxed out combat oriented light force Revan that I kept pumped full of combat drugs, it took me 3 hours of continuous failure, and yet another 1/2 hour cheating with the pause button every 2 seconds (!!!) to beat him!!! lol
