Description
For years, the tree had stood dead. Even turned to stone, it was full of powerful magic. It had begun to crack with age, and was covered from its ancient roots to its alabastor crown with moss and lichen, vines hanging from it like a shrowd.
But even in death, the tree was full of power. All but the boldest creatures now avoided it, and sharp shards of luminous blue crystal had begun to grow from it's bark like fangs.
But even with all it's power and magic, for centuries the tree lacked the one most powerful property of all, that belongs to all creatures, life. Until now.
Brekeon caregully stepped up the gnarled roots, careful not to catch a hoof. Nimbler unicorns than he had met their death in the brambles by this tree, but he had to be closer. He could smell it, he could almost taste it, it was so sweet. He wasn't the only one, the butterflies could smell it too, and they had begun to swarm to it.
Finally he reached the branch. Out of the longest branch of the oldest tree, a tre with a stone heart, had grown a blossom. A single pink blossom. The tiny flower let off a pollen yellow glow, and one by one more creatures began to draw near to the circle, but none save Brekeon dared approach the tree.
He smelled it, took it in, let the aroma fill him. This tree was fated long ago to never bloom again, and it' rebirth was said to be a sign of....
Brekeon shook it off. Prophecy or no, unicorns are not superstitious creatures. He knew it was a harbinger of something, but what, it was impossible to tell. All the same, he felt in his soul that things would change in Spirit Wood, and the changes would be painful.
