Description "Help I Fallen And I Can't Get Up" I think that is what this baby bird said went it ended up on the ground with 5 cats surrounding it. I heard a lot of birds carrying on outside and when I got out there my neighbor yelled to me from his window and said my black cat was just going after a baby bird that fell out of the tree. He yelled at the cat and he dropped the bird. The parent birds were trying to chase the cats off and not having any luck at it. I got the baby bird to go to the neighbors yard. And got my cats in to the house. At the point I took this picture of him he was 3 houses away from the cats. And my cats got them self's grounded for the night. I hope this little baby makes it. The parent birds were still staying close to the baby I had shots of the parents right next to it by they didn't come out clear. Taken 6-15-11.

This is the nest he fell out of:

This is one of the parents being a look out:

As a volunteer in wildlife rehabilitation, thank you for taking the steps to protect this baby robin. Taking the cats inside is defineately the right thing to do, for sure!
His feathers look developed enough that he may be a 'fledgling', meaning he cannot fly but spends time out of the nest, and the parents continue to feed him.~ Considering you said that the parents are still around, they haven't abandoned him and he'll probably be okay. Observe from a distance still if you are still concerned.
If you have any questions about the babies survival or health, you could always contact a certified rehabber in your area, by contacting a local humane society or government wildlife service.~
XDD Sorry for the ramble, I just want to congradulate you for trying to help the baby! Want to see this little cutie survive happily, right?~

Don't worry about the rambling. There was four babies in the nest. And by the next day there was another one out and one of the stray cats was going after him. I yelled at the cat and then feed it so it would forget about the baby. I think the babies are all flying now as I see them around, the parents are still near by too, they seem to have gotten the babies all near the woods. I think these birds are kind of stupid having there kids in my yard as I have more cats in my yard then there are in the whole neighborhood. lol I am a cat lover, but I don't like it when the cats hurt other animals so them all get yelled at or ran off. My cats just get grounded and maid to stay in for a couple of days. Helping the baby was the right thing to do.

I see, well it does sound like they'll be okay. i am a cat lover myself (currently have 5), but I agree, like you apparently are, it is nice to see people being responsible cat owners, by making sure that wildlife is respected as well.
Kudos to you, my dear.~

All the babies are gone today, I think that all started to fly. Or at least that is what I hope they did.

He's a cute little fledgling... Robins are very precocious, and he's about the age where they jump out of the nest. I'm sure he wasn't expecting to find cats surrounding him when he jumped, but as long as you keep your kitties away from him he should be just fine. His parents will come down and feed him, and they'll find him a bush or something to hide in and they'll feed him until he starts flying which should be within the next week or so. (:

This morning I had to save another one. This one almost jump right in one of the wild cats mouths. I yelled and it stopped long enough for the baby bird to go about 20 feet away and me to get to the cat. I got some night shots of the mother bird or maybe it was the father. One of the parents was in a tree. And kept chirping. I think it was calling out the locations of the 3 wild cats that I gave food in hopes that if they were not hungry they would leave the baby birds alone. I will post the pictures of the parent bird later today.

Oh my goodness! Sounds like someone was tired of the nest, haha.
Aww, cool, I can't wait to see the parents.

One of the other baby birds were on the ground this morning when I went out. I saw Fathead going after it and yelled, I got lucky he stopped. I got some nice shots it one of the parent birds in the tree keeping a eye on all the cats.

Hm, why do birdies fall from the nest? I hope your cats will be far from them.

And why they jump out of their nest? First attempts to fly?
