Fur is quite the beast to tackle it seems in digital drawings. I haven't tried doing drawings yet with a lot of fur. Did you by any chance see this tutorial yet [link]
I like this guy and he is pretty neat looking, I like that smile the most! I think you want to try doing a other piece like this again. Here is what you might want to try differently though. It looks like you used the smudge tool in this. Stay away from that tool and try drawing the fur with the regular brushes. Do it just like hair by doing multiple strokes over each other over and over again, but make sure that the opacity and flow bars are low. Maybe look real closely at photos of dogs or cat furs just to see all the strokes in them. It takes time and lots of patience but I think it will help you out some more.

Thank you, I haven't seen that tutorial before
Unfortunately I don't have a tablet, nor am I willing to invest in one, seeing as this is just a hobby for me (although I'd gladly accept one as a gift *wink*); as such doing each strand with a mouse would be a pain, literally...
I HAVE made a better draft using one of my friends' art, but I can't post it for obvious reasons

Okay then
Yeah, doing that with a mouse would likely be a real pain.
Hahaha...I think you would have to ask santa for one of those
