i did this a few weeks ago and only got the chance to scan it now. it's a little messy cause i rushed to finish it. XD i can never take my time on things. need to work on that*i just wanted to point out that why this is more popular than my other work, i don't know, because this is one of my least favorite pieces and i put more effort and time into some of my other stuff that people don't even look at ><*

as for your frustrations, I think this is the first piece of yours that I've ever seen, it certainly LOOKS like more time was put on it than you imply and uh...sorry? I like it 'cause it's really beautiful and detailed, of course I don't want to upset you (nor do I think anyone else wants to)

I love the visible veins and the facial detail, you got all the angles right, what I always have a problem with.
Only his left hand seems odd a bit, makes the impression that he has broken fingers.
Still, this is an amazing sketch and I love everything about it.

Don't worry, I have the same problem as you do. Lol, I always rush to finish things and it really is a bad habit. But I'm working on it. I find that it helps when I cut my drawing time into a few parts. Draw for as long as you feel comfortable, and when you're starting to get impatient then walk away from it for a day or so. I can usually draw for four to five hours at a time, then I start to get restless.
As for the drawing, I love the concept! It's very well done! The only things that bother me a little is his right hand. It seems off, and maybe it would look better if the hand was actually balled into a fist? And as was mentioned earlier, the wings seem to delicate. I think bird wings would look cool, or even a sort of dragon wing.
Other than that, excellent job. It really caught my attention.

Awesomely done. Only issue I have is with the wings. They could be worked on just a little more, to balance the overall realism. But overall the figure is great

I'm having a hard time with my drawings, for the competition that I'm going to submit my drawings is kind of picky. Now, I'm having a hard time deciding which one works better---pencil or pen and ink.

Oh cool, I was going to do a drawing very similar to this a while back but I got sidetracked. I totally agree with you about mixing and matching photo references from the net with your own style, makes things realistic looking and allows flexibility, good stuff. Well, back to practicing drawing for me, thanks for the inspiration.
