  “How are you holding up, Shina,” Akaiyo called out over the sounds of combat.
  “My legs haven’t failed me yet,” she replied, kicking one of her two current dance partners to the floor.
  Much like the ambush team, Akaiyo and Shina were attempting a breakthrough of their own, utilizing what few fighters from Kaesu were left. Comparatively, they were having much more success going from group to group, as despite having fewer numbers they were more thoroughly trained.
  However, that success was still met with limitations. Their smaller number meant that for as thoroughly as they could cut down the mass of brigands, they couldn't do it quickly to link up with Yuwa and Cipher, a task they were driven to accomplish given how many people they may have lost to buy them time.
  To that end, Shina further beat down the looter in front of her with the bottom end of her naginata. In that same swing, without even needing to look, she sent the bladed end into the center of the one behind her, then swung back to finish off the one she’d been looking at. “We need to speed this up!”
