I'm nearing the end of Generation X right now and I've absolutely loved it. This looks really great. Your choices really embody the characters extremely well. The effect on Jono is cool, same with the kind of remixed look for Penance. But I must say my favourite here is Monet. She really sticks out and looks as if she's the living embodiment of M! Too bad Emma and Sean aren't on here....

*sigh* It's really too bad that a lot of the members got f*cked around with during the last little bit of the book and over the past decade. Poor Synch, Skin, Jono...... and now Jubes! Grr.

pretty dead on for the most part. The white hoodie on husk made me think white queen/emma frost until I look at the character list. Additionally not sold on your skin. Otherwise sold on everyone else.

CircadianTwilight In reply to Seraph6283 [2009-03-06 13:13:16 +0000 UTC]

Yeah I totally agree with you... maybe not on the Emma part since I can't ever imagine Emma wearing a hoodie; she's far too classy for that. But Skin, yeah, I had real issues finding a stock image of a Mexican/Latino looking guy, so I had to settle for someone who reminded me of him in pose/clothing. I've been considering editing this picture though because M's hair pisses me off, lol, and I think Synch's head looks a bit weird.

Seraph6283 In reply to CircadianTwilight [2009-03-06 21:33:59 +0000 UTC]

True about Emma. I guess the way Synch head fades off is kinda kunky. Also I think his facial built is dead on I was thinking everett was more milk choloclate brown then dark chocolate brown in skin coloring. Then again look how differently M skin color has been handled by different artists.

Very nice work. It reminded me of back in '96? when they tried with the tv movie. My fave here is Jonothan. Monet kinda looks like Jubes to me at 1st glance. But the overall work looks professional.

Oh she does a little, I didn't think about it but she does. I never saw the TV movie, I'm fairly sure it doesn't have Jono in though and as I'm a big Chamber fangirl, that's a huge nono for me lol

Ty for the comment

You're right about the tv movie not having Jono in it. Small budget, you know. I was even a little teed with their Jubester not being remotely Asian. It was interesting to watch at that time anyway.

Jubilee is one of my favorite comic book characters, and while I didn't appreciate the series as a whole I did enjoy certain characters like Skin and Husk.

Beautifully done!

This a great tribute to one of the best and most unique X-book ever. Your choses for Jubilee, Jono and Everett are awesome. Its also kinda sad. When this comic ended most of these characters were written off or ignored. And it was around this time that the X-verse, hell Marvel in general started to suck. Still Kudos to you.

CircadianTwilight In reply to GreyhawkTheAngry [2008-07-23 18:42:16 +0000 UTC]

Ah I don't think Marvel started to suck...what are you referring to exactly? Thanks for the comment x

GreyhawkTheAngry In reply to CircadianTwilight [2008-07-25 16:40:26 +0000 UTC]

The X-Books story lines since about 2000 have, well, sucked. Maybe other Marvel story lines have fared better, I'll admit some have done well up until recently. I don't read much outside of X-men I'll admit and for the past eight odd years things have not being looking good. And every time it looks like there heading in a better direction, things go bad again. The list is to long for me to put in this small note, but other die hard fans that I know agree with me whole heartedly (if for different reasons). And if you ask around you might find many more that agree with me.

CircadianTwilight In reply to GreyhawkTheAngry [2008-07-26 10:32:03 +0000 UTC]

Hmm, that's odd, because you're the first person I know to have said that! I post on a few comic book sites, a roleplaying site in particular, and no one has voiced those complaints. Personally I think Marvel have made leaps and bounds in their portrayal of characters and storylines- they're more believable as people. Particularly the civil war series- I think that was a great move on their part. I do have issues with decimation and I'm not a huge fan of Ultimate, however the latter is not 616 so I can live with that.

GreyhawkTheAngry In reply to CircadianTwilight [2008-07-26 16:16:28 +0000 UTC]

Well I don't know about online chats and stuff, I talk to people face to face about this. when I first heard about Civil War I got a cold feeling in my gut even though my friends thought it was going to be cool. They agree with me now, especially after Cap got killed of. What has Civil War gotten us? Spidey's identity is known to the public, several super heroes are dead, Iron Man is almost a dictator (theres a butter term for what he is but my brain is elsewhere right now), and of course if I forgot to mention, CAPS DEAD!! And if the characters are supposed to be more like real people, then I guess even more real people need to be on anti-depressents (yes I mis-spelled that). The only thing you have right is the Decimation thing, I still don't know what Mavel was smoking with that. I know that every one lost a favorite character with that, but I lost almost all of mine! *sigh* Calming down now. Maybe its a generational thing. I'm in my early twenties, and I don't know how old you are but I suspect your younger than me. It could be that younger readers might like this story line better. One of the general problems is that everything is too serious, and there are no breaks between these massive, Earth shattering story lines. Or maybe I'm just getting to old to read comics.

Actually I'm 23 and have kids of my own lol so, my social circle tends to be older. I'm not simply talking about people online, I have a few comic book friends offline too, one of them owns a comic book store...plus I talk to someone who is hopefully going to be writing for Marvel in the near future. I was never a fan of Cap, so, I don't really mourn his death. As for other superheroes dying...c'mon, how many times do people in Marvel die?? It's a near constant thing. And anti-depressants? Yeah, you know, theres a huge amount of the population on them so hey xD it's kinda accurate I'm a fan of angst myself anyhow lol. That aside, I think you are exaggerating in that respect. I don't mind that spidey has been de-masked, personally I think it was a very interesting move. Back to decimation though....yeah I really don't understand that one. 198 mutants in the world...does not sit well with me, as a disliker of the 'cure' and all that kind of jibe- Chamber is my biggest Marvel fandom and he got depowered, and while I find the whole Apocalypse aspect of his family interesting I think he worked much better with the issues with his body, plus I liked his biokinetic powers a lot more than the sonic based abilities.

GreyhawkTheAngry In reply to CircadianTwilight [2008-07-27 11:14:20 +0000 UTC]

What can I say, I read comic books to get away from reality, not get some of the harsher aspects of it thrown in my face. They are supposed to be fantasy/adventure based, and I get enough drama in real life. I'd continue this discussion more but I'm not really thinking about Marvel anymore. Got other things on my mind right now.
