Description
Splatoon 2's Off The Hook as well as ideas bubbling from the original Splatoon with the idea of "what if the Octarians have pop idols" started developing these two. For a while now, I've been considering on making more Octoling OCs other than Octavia.

Octavia was the Commander of the Octarians, but during the plot of Splatoon 2 while she had been living in Inkopolis and adjusting to life with the Inklings as well as befriending Inka and Amadeus in between the games, when Callie got squidnapped, Agent 3 (Inka) and Agent 4 (Amadeus Ink) decided to step up to save her, with Octavia assisting. Octavia acted as a spy for the New Squidbeak Splatoon, and acted as their consultant on how to handle the Octarian Forces. She wasn't caught onto until the fight against DJ Octavio and the brainwashed Callie, and when it was revealed she was now a traitor, Octavia didn't really care. The events afterward are where Sashimi Spectacle (Tako and Yaki) come into the picture.

Their group and their music:
Tako and Yaki are the sole two members of Sashimi Spectacle (following the fashion of Off The Hook and the Squid Sisters). They don't only sing, but they combine instruments into their work. Tako usually sings lead while playing the piano or harp, while Yaki usually sings backup and adds in synth and other beats. They try to balance it in a way to where it works. Piano and synth is most commonly mixed into their work. It is unknown why the two of them came to Inkopolis, but only the two of them seem to know why...

Descriptions:
Tako (Octoling; 16-17 years old)
Tako builds up 1/2 of the group Sashimi Spectacle, and is the older twin sister of Yaki despite her fashion sense makes her appear to be the younger twin. She speaks in a gentle and melodious tone similarly to an angel's, and her calm, sweet personality and demeanor matches it. She has an impenetrable coolness and is practically impossible to upset her (by the looks of it) and her heavenly nature enchants those who come across her.

Under her angelic face hides Tako's cunning and manipulative nature. She is capable of keeping things under her control and allowing herself to benefit from said control. Tako and Yaki are both elite Octoling soldiers (as noted by the seaweed bows, which looks like a decoration to most unless they know they actual meaning), and they're currently searching for Octavia in order to capture her, or destroy her for her traitorous actions if they have to. Tako takes a defensive and graceful approach to battle; using her primary weapon of the Splatbrella and her secondary of the Slosher to get the job done. Tako isn't as flexible with weapons as Yaki, but is mostly able to make things work.

Yaki (Octoling; 16-17 years old)
Yaki builds up the other half of Sashimi Spectacle, and is the younger twin sister of Tako despite looking older than her sister from her fashion sense. She speaks quite abrasively and bluntly, giving her somewhat of a 'bad girl' edge that ties in well with her vibe and style. Yaki tends to be short-tempered and impatient in comparison to Tako, but the coolness she gives off from her nature enchants those around her.

Yaki has no need to make herself appear a certain way like Tako, but she is much smarter and aware of what is happening than she lets on. She is an elite Octoling like Tako and has the same goal as her sister, though she'd rather get the job done aggressively than through diplomacy. She is capable of handling herself well in battle and goes for an aggressive yet tactful approach while battling. She mainly uses the Heavy Splatling as her primary weapon, and the Splat Dualies as her secondary, though she is quite crafty and is good at using other weapons if she must. Yaki tends to follow her sister's orders closely as Tako is more of a careful planner than Yaki is, and by following orders, it allows her to keep things in their favor.

So that's Tako and Yaki so far. My favorite part was designing them and starting to figure out their characters. Part of their inspiration came from the Katayanagi Twins from Scott Pilgrim vs the World, with the musical aspect coming from the movie while the color motif came from their game versions. I'm excited to use them in the future with later Splatoon works. Now all I need to do is update Inka and Octavia and finalize Daisy and Annette.
