Cinder / Sandshrew Male
Serious / Strong Willed
Sand Attack - Poison Sting
Slash - Rapid Spin

Cinder is a serious lil guy, hes got very strong emotional attachment to helping and shielding people. He also has a healthy appreciation for laws and rules, unlike his partner. These qualities make him the leader in their ventures. Squall can annoy him to no end, but she's fairly loyal and the stronger of the two, though Cinder would never openly admit that.

Squall / Shinx Female
Rash / Somewhat Vain
Bite - Spark
Swagger - Roar

If Squall was leading this team they would be rogues, but she isn't. Self centered, she is interested only in things that she benefits from. Despite this she is loyal to Cinder and respects him enough to never cause too much trouble intentionally, but her abrasive temperament and rash methodology usually get them into more trouble than she means to. Fortunately Cinder has thus-far proved capable of getting them out of it with smarts. Though she might pretend otherwise her hearts in the right place and she believes in helping people.

These two are so opposite and dysfunctional they make me laugh, and yet somehow it works out, I don't know.
