I love his internal nostrils! They just look neat and I love to see them portrayed in dinosaurs.

What do these nostrils do? And what animal has them nowadays?
The hole near the tongue is for breathing while eating like snakes. that I know.

They are supposed to be choanae, a lot of tetrapods have them, while most fish lack them.
However, their position are themselves problematic here.
