you do not have permission to use this photoBarn Swallow feeding its chick. I can't tell if that's the father or mother, but I'm pretty sure both parents feed the chicks. These are the same parents to the 5 chicks of the "Full House: Barn Swallows" photo I took, but this chick is from their second brood of this year. This brood only had 3 chicks, quite a lot easier for the parents than 5, lol. I took this photo the day after the chicks took their first flying lesson out of the nest. The stand the chick is perched on is only a few yards from the nest.Β

The adults actually hovered above the chick to feed it, carefully passing the food to the chick before flying off for more.Β
