Description Here are a few color mutations found in Zebra Finches (there are more that I haven't added to this chart). Some of the names of the mutations may be different in other regions.

Some zebras can be split for two colors. Some Normal Gray males that are split for Chestnut-flanked White (CFW) will have white lacing on the wings. Some Normal Gray males split with Black Cheek (BC) will have black etching in their orange cheeks. Some color mutations can be combined to create different color mutations, often a combination of both color mutations in one bird.

Fascinating - I had zebra finches when I was a kid, and I hadn't seen most of these color mutations throughout several generations of them! Didn't even know most of these existed.

Thanks for sharing!

Thanks. I'm hoping to breed some of these color mutations. I only have one chestnut-flanked white (female), the rest are normal grays.

This is really neat! I had no idea there were so many varieties of Zebra Finches! They're all so cute too!

Thanks. Many of these colors can be combined to breed even more colorful zebras.
