Description
A plane director leads a Hornet into position to launch off the carrier. Once the plane is in the correct position and stops the crew around it will go through the process of hooking it up to the cat. Alse seen in this photo are some plane captains in brown. This is not to be confused with aircraft pilots plane captains are enlisted aircraft crew that are in charge of the maintenance crew attached to that aircraft in this case this plane captain is a PO2 (E5) shown on the left arm of shirt. They are comparable a crew chief in the USAF in job responsibilities.
