Description
The Ohio-class ballistic missile submarine USS Wyoming (SSBN 742) pulls into Naval Station Norfolk in Norfolk, Virginia. Naval Station Norfolk is not only the largest USN base in the world, but it is the largest naval base period. It's almost the size of my home state supporting 75 different ships and 134 aircraft. It has 14 piers and 11 aircraft hangers.

The base houses the largest concentration of U.S. Navy forces. Air Operations conducts an average of 275 flights per day or one every six minutes. It is the hub for Navy logistics going to the European and Central Command theaters of operations, and to the Caribbean.

Norfolk is also the final destination for all those who are leaving the USN enlisted or officer alike.
