That was the last anyone saw of Tangmere before she entered the works at Carnforth for what promised to be a quick program of remedial work. However when they took the lid off of the engine so to speak, they realised that boy had they wragged it...

Over a year later, and finally 34067 "Tangmere" emerges from Carnforth following an emergency overhaul. Here she is seen passing through Clitheroe whilst undertaking her loaded test run via Hellifield and Blackburn.
