Wow. The floor looks wet, the way the door, the window and the wall don't meet up...the panes of the window. You have me looking...and looking. Always drawn to that window. The title is perfect. Great piece. I've missed your work. Β

hi Cyndy,
nice to hear from you after ages!
I too have missed your perceptive comments and wondered if you have left DA or me!!
Β I have always been weak on technical aspects like perspective, colour balance, light-and-shadow...I took up painting quite late and when realised there were two ways to go about - learn the nuts-and-bolts [theory as they call it] and THEN paint or simply go for painting for the issues you think are worth painting. Out of inertia I chose the second option. Not making virtue of my limitations, I admit them - but I always feel good when someone can see beyond them and at the subject matter, like you.
Mostly conventional 'artists' get stuck at technicalites. In the past I was quite discouraged from this venture by their incessant - this is wrong, that is wrong, this is not a painting...Now I am thick-skinned enough I believe! When you keep 'expert' approval and money out of it, sky is the limit.

You did this very beautifully. I almost expect to see something for the light to be shining on.
