thanks
this, the sycamore, and a few other eye-candies came about because I had the misfortune to come across a big-talker society woman a few years back.Until then I was on my straight and narrow path of social themes. And knew that social themes is not the stuff for commercial galleries nor sales.I was ok with that.Still new to painting and vulnerable though.
This woman promised me to get into commercial circuit if I produced something conventional. Then, she said it would be easier to get viewers for the social art too.
That is how this one, sycamore, crowd, definition, etc. came about. I must have spent two-three months to produce some 10-12 of them and waited eagerly for a year more for her to deliver her promise.
She did not once stir in the direction of any gallery, nor did one of these pieces ever leave my house.
She was not serious at all when she had bragged about her contacts in the first place.Only it took more than a year for the enlightenment to sink in for me. Must have been a casual whim of a rich woman enacted well for a gullible.
Thanks for your liking these but I always see them with considerable bitterness and a burning of ears. Though humiliations keep on coming alright from new quarters and in new garbs in the art-venture for me , this was the loss of virginity!
sorry to have gone on this but it is rather a raw nerve!

I see, it would make them hard to look at for you under those circumstances.
False hopes leave an unpleasant sheen over everything they touch.
But they are beautiful, very elegant graceful things.

in a way it just told me that I can produce conventional stuff.

I dunno. It's beautiful, we could debate the nature of beauty vs convention.

lol
no we won't!
I have had too much of vivisection of beauty, aesthetics...and continue to have it with anybody and everybody. In my talks, on here, in the press...likely, even on TV shortly!
Let there be one person known to me who has not been subjected to my harangue on that!
I accept your compliment on the painting in all humility
[I tried other emoticons, they come out as typed words, only this appears to be working for me, not that I am complaining]

That's ok I'm a poor debater. But it is an interesting topic.
I suppose it's no different than poetry really,
finding fresh ways to say what's familiar and ordinary.
