Description
This is the fifth out of 6 paintings that made up my senior show. It was an absolute beast to complete. It's based off of the fairytale "Issun Boshi" (AKA: "The Inch High Samurai") and measures in at a whopping 46"x48". It's painted with traditional oils on Masonite.
I used a source photo for the odd perspective and it can be found here: [link]

In the story of Issun-boshi, he was swallowed alive by an oni (Japanese ogre) and cut his way out through the oni's throat

I've heard of this one, but not actually read it. I might have to seek out a translation sometime. I really like this one's style. It's really impressive how you managed to get a different style and "feel" to each piece in the show!

Thanks! The last two pieces of the show is where I really hit my stride, IMO. I was a lot more confident with those guys

Thanks! Yeah, this thing is an absolute monster. Luckily, it's already sold so I don't have to figure out the logistics of getting it into my car
