Description
This is the finished version of my deffinitive Chrono Cross sprite project.Although it is finished, eventually some sprites will be remade, because though I am very proud of them, I must say I'm not 100% satisfied with some.This was HARD work, very hard.Getting the right colors alone is one hell of a task, but it was all worth it.^^I'm also looking forward to making sprites for Chrono Trigger AND other games, maybe even some Final Fantasies and the like.^^
These sprites are all my original work (some were made from scratch, with no bases used) and I don't authorize their use by anyone that is not me.I didn't make them for other people to take them and use them.
They're placed in alphabetical order, in case you don't know who each character is, here is a list:
From top left to right:
Doc, Draggy, Fargo, Funguy, Glenn, Greco, Grobyc, Guile, Harle, Irenes (my favorite sprite of the lot), Janice, Karsh, Kid, Korcha, Leah, Leena, Luccia, Lynx, Macha, Marcy, Mel, Miki, Mojo, NeoFio, Nikki, Norris, Orcha, Orlha, Pierre, Pip, Poshul, Radius, Razzly (looks too big for her original size, will work on it later), Riddel, Serge, Steena (need to remake), Sneff, Sprigg, Starky, Turnip, Van, Viper, Zappa, Zoah.
I think CC owns.It has it's flaws, and I'm not saying it is better than CT.If there's one thing I hate are CT freaks who slander CC and say it is non-canon.It IS canon, people, read it up (I didn't make this up, this is a fact!)They are just games.Some people just take things too seriously.
Anyways, to each his own...

Those sailor moon sprite bases. I remember using those bases and editing them into characters back then.
Had a program called Palace32 where I uploaded them and there were sprite battles and roleplays and stuff. Miss those days..

you know it is possible for square to rerelease chrono cross in the form of chrono trigger like in snes form or whatever.
and with that freed up space they can add more things inside it....like possible a reference to the 3rd title (:

I was just wondering, have you ever considered animating them? Like, walking animations or something in that direction?
These sprites are so perfect, it's amazing how you got the details down in such little images. Looking at your work, I wish I could sprite as good as you.

Animate them? No, not really. That sounds like a TOUGH job, plus I lack practice in animating stuff. But who knows? XD

Aah, I see. Then how about a Dark Serge sprite? You know, Lynx in Serge's body with his black / piratey garb. I always loved that character design.

Well, during the first half I have many different teams according to the quest, but my favorite is Lynx, Harle and Norris.I never let go off of Harle from when I get her up to when she leaves the party.

I make mine using Sailor Moon: Another Story (the rpg game) style bases in MS paint.You can google for the bases, because I couldn't find the adress, sorry.

I've never met a CT fan who was taht anti-CC. Or anti-CC at all. The only thing bad about CC was that Chrono, Lucca, and Marle were killed, then you get to witness Robo getting killed... well deleted. But the story was wonderful and all that, great pixels by the way. But let me ask, what do anti-CC fans complain about?

Well, that thing of them getting killed, that's sad for CT loving fans.But the game has so much to offer, so many sights to see within the game, so many secrets, characters (some under-developed but nevertheless interesting) and such a lush gorgeous tropical setting that, in my opinion, more than makes up for the CT cast's absence.
What I think most anti-CC fans (aka bullshit talkers) whine about is the difference between games, the ammount of characters, and some even dare to complain about the MUSIC, which is outrageous given Yasunori Mitsuda's talent and experience.But most of them complay about the gameplay, concerning the element system and the lack of develpment of double and triple techs between characters.
I myself think CC stands well on it's own and that it is a worthy role-playing game experience for any gamer.It is a remarkable game and my personal favorite.

CC was one of the better games.
I don't play rpgs anymore, because I first played CT and FF7 and set my standards there... most games sucked after being introduced practically to rpgs by them. CC was a worth while play, not the best game, but none the less a worth while play and a good story.
The characters aren't absent. Just, nto playable. Chrono, Lucca, and Marle appear multiple times. Robo makes a single apperance, as a program working as a fail safe within Fate. Rumor is Gleen is Frog (as they had the same name, and the same human apperance).
Hell, FATE is actualy the Mother Systerm from the future that you have to fight on Robo's side quest. Which is ironic, no dobut. The Factory i beleive is Chronopolis, and so on and so forth. Alot of the characters, and palces match up. People just dont' see it.

A lot of the CT fans that bash CC Havn't played Radical Dreamers, and that game in and of itself explains 90% of the missing story between the other two games.
CT fans have also been a bit miffed about the "special new ending" in the DS revamp, but again, anyone who has played all three games can see that it makes perfect sense cannon wise.
The problem is Magus was originally going to return in CC , but at the last min they scrapped the idea because he was "too epic a chatacter to try to work into the story" so we ended up with Guile instead.
So if you follow Magus' original timeline, he loses his memory at the end of CT and is lost in time, he winds up in the era of CC and starts over, meeting up with serge and kid in the events of RD, after which, CC takes place, and we know the rest from there
All of it Cannon, all of it makes for a great story....provided you ignore the last min change from magus to guile, which i am sure will be resolved when they re release CC on a hand held

I'm a bit obsessive with story. I played through Final Fantasy seven 32 times in one month, clear through. . . Because I wanted to compare some things.

well I haven't heard anything official, but with CT being redone, I wouldn't be surprized to see CC and maybe even RD brought back

Haha man that's awesome. Too bad you won't give em' out though, these would make for a great RPG Maker XP game. Well, you'd need a lot more then just these sprites, but it's a pretty good begin. Anyway, I get your reasons. Good job mate.
