But not with Mel and Oliver! (nope! I'm getting tired of drawing Oliver anyways and I can always draw Mel later)
Meet Randy! He's about three days old, I think, which means he is SUPER NEW. All the other characters that you guys have seen are about... mmm... two years old?
ahahaha so this is different for me. C:

General Info
Name: Randolph "Randy" Sunderland (he doesn't mind being called Randolph, but Randy is preferred)
Town of Origin: Verdanturf, Hoenn
Personality: Randy is a overall fun guy. He'll pretty much go with whatever you say if you sound excited enough. Quick to think, he's someone that anybody would want with them when in a tight situation.
But only in tight situations, really. Any other situation would have him standing there and just repeating his thoughts and going over them to see if they'll work.
Randy isn't a very competitive person, really. He doesn't care about winning or losing, and is actually a really good sport. He'll congratulate winners, he'll comfort losers. Of course, once he becomes PASSIONATE about what he's doing, that "good sport" thing is thrown out the window.
He likes happy people. C:
And he is the kinda of person that would wave frantically at cameras.
History: Randy grew up fairly normal, with a mom and a dad, and plenty of friends. He was often the talk of the town, for more reasons than one. Eight years ago, for example, when he was merely seven years old, his older brother had been abducted in broad daylight by a pokémon young Randy had never seen before. He could tell it had been a psychic-type, due to it being able to keep Randy himself at bay with nothing but it's mental powers, but beyond that... Randy didn't know.
All he knew was that it had taken his older brother.
So for the next three years he dedicated himself to studying pokémon and their strengths, weaknesses, types, species, so on and so forth. At some point along the way he had figured out the pokémon, as well as why he didn't know WHAT pokémon it had been.
They were native to the Kanto and Johto region.
But he discovered that they were not carnivorous creatures, and they only ate the dreams of their victims. And that his brother wasn't the first child to be taken away by one of their kind.
Randy was determined to get his brother back, even when his parents had given up hope of ever seeing their eldest child ever again.
Randy hops from region to region, posting fliers of the only picture he has of his brother, when he was eight, all over the towns he visits. He tends to stay in a region for about a year, cycling his fliers through cities in hopes of finding someone with news of is brother.
To remind himself that he's from Verdanturf, he always wears flowered shirts, since the clean air and fields of flowers were what made his town a popular place for those who just want to kick back and relax.
Somewhere along the line he discovered himself to be pansexual.
Motivation: Randy isn't entering PCBCOS for any prize, but for the media attention. He believes that if he can get on TV, then there's a high possibility that his brother might see him and rush over to meet him.

Pokémon
Name: Cameroon, sometimes called Cam
Gender: Male
Species: Girafarig
Ability: Inner Focus
Moveset: Power Swap, Guard Swap, Shock Wave, Double Kick, Beat Up
Nature: Hardy
Other: Cameroon is Randy's first pokémon, and is almost always out of its pokéball. He's fairly strong for a Girafarig, and this is due to Randy riding him when he was still small enough to comfortably sit on Cameroon. Now, Cameroon shares the load with Ghana, Randy's Ponyta. With a foot on each pokémon's back, Randy is able to ride the two.
Cameroon is always Randy's first pick, but not necessarily his favorite. It's true that the two are close, but Randy tries to love all his pokémon equally. C: Of course, Cameroon doesn't always like this..

Name: Togo
Gender: Female
Species: Dunsparce
Ability: Run Away
Moveset: Rage, Glare, Spite, Pursuit, Dig
Nature: Docile
Other: Togo, despite her appearance, can be a very angry Dunsparce, which can be easily seen by her moveset. She's willing to fight until she finds out her opponent is stronger than her, which she responds to with multitudes of DIG.
She's a bit of a coward.

Name Senegal
Gender: Male
Species: Grimer
Ability: Stench
Moveset: Minimize, Giga Drain, Shadow Punch, Poison Gas, Flamethrower
Nature: Timid
Other: Senegal is the most wretched thing you'd ever smell. Sure, his stench is just like any other grimer, but MAN, he smells!
Which is why he's almost always in his pokéball and is considered a last resort pokémon. This is the one pokémon that Randy has the hardest time loving. He doesn't mind getting dirty... but Senegal would mess with his flowery scent, which Randy prides himself in.
Senegal likes hugs. C:

Gender: Female
Species: Ponyta
Ability: Flash Fire
Moveset: Morning Sun, Fire Blast, Solarbeam, Sunny Day, Facade
Nature: Hasty
Other: Ghana is a spirited young Ponyta that loves to run. However, she always dislikes having passengers, so whenever Randy is on her back she makes sure to make a fuss about it before actually running
She always tries her best in battles, but once hurt she tends to play it safe after that.
She likes Cameroon, but Cameroon shows no interest.

Name Benin
Gender: Male
Species: Buizel
Ability: Swift Swim
Moveset: Aqua Jet, Bulk Up, Iron Tail, Swift, Dig
Nature: Adamant
Other: Benin is nearly always on Randy's shoulders, observing everything around him. He's fairly vain, and considers himself better than all the other pokémon on Randy's team, which is why Benin is NEVER used in double battles.
Benin prides himself in being the closest to evolution.

Name: Mali
Gender: Female
Species: Chikorita
Ability: Overgrow
Moveset: Razor Leaf, Flash, Swords Dance, Mudslap, Vine Whip
Nature: Brave
Other: Despite the fact that she is Randy's weakest and newest member, Mali is geared to win all of her battles, even if it means her opponent may be a fifty-foot tall fire type.. To prevent herself from getting hit, she makes use of Mudslap and Flash, which she ALWAYS uses.
Mali likes to cuddle with Randy, which Randy adoressssssss.
