Book Description: a golden and white tom with brown flecks.

Description: Finchleap's fur is long and fluffy, but is kept exceptionally groomed, with tangles ever knotting up in areas he can't reach anymore in his older age (around the base of his tail and so on) but he doesn't make a habit of letting mats stay. The fur is primarily a harvest-yellow with darker little flecks that spill over into his white underbelly, underside of his tail, and so on. Light brown bands ring around his ankles and tail and color both of his ears fully in the color. Going along with his bright fur, his eyes are strikingly light in their ice color. His stance is tall and firm, larger than the average warrior. His jaw is boxy and his face is well-defined and decisively tomlike and soldierly. He is only considered "buff" when compared to the average WindClan cat. The skin underneath his fur is entirely black wherever it shows.

Description:
The cover is as good as the book. One wrong move on a first run-in, and you may be on his bad side for the next year. You need to fit his criteria for his "proper" warrior, by being a cis-gendered heterosexual. It's both conscious and unconscious, but he will scrutinize everyone for everything. You get off the hook easier if you're young, and if you've been respectful in the past. Once you fall into a rut, it takes unbelievable effort to climb back out.

Description:
Instead of being wholly intolerant to outside ideas, Finchleap has grown to smile and nod more than he has been able to. He still is intimidated by ideas that do not align with his own, but instead of being aggressive, he has learned to take it less to heart. He is an older cat who can't so easily be taught new tricks, so he is naturally quite narrow minded. He tends to see only what's directly in front of him, causing him frustration when trying to level with his clanmates. He still isn't a cuddly "we can live together like a big happy family" sort of guy, but he's a lot closer than he was. At least now, he can talk to a wider variety of cats without being so outwardly condescending and disapproving.
He has gone from Intolerant to Parochial by getting to know Quailsong and nephew, Ramcloud, better.
