I see Ringtail as another integral part of his grand-nieces' and grand-nephews' lives. A lot of them would probably be nervous around him at first, but I think that Ringtail would try, at least for these little guys, to be a bit more approachable than usual.

Good ol' "Wake Up Calls". One of my favorite Orisinal games as a kid.
The colors in this one are my favorite of this bunch of pictures. It isn't as bright as I usually make them, and I feel like it's easy on the eyes.
When he gets older, I feel like Morningkit will have at least some things in common with his great-uncle. All the same, I'd bet that Aspencloud would try to have her kittens know Ringtail just as well as they know Ashstep, even if he isn't the constant stream of fun his brother is.

they would probably get along better just because Ring is so hesitant and calm around the kits.

Glad that you've interpreted him that way! Ringtail is like a second father to Aspencloud, so I'm glad that that rubbed off on one of Aspencloud's sons.
tbh, I'd love for Ringtail to mentor one of the little guys. Morningkit in particular, since he behaves like him the most.
