Humming a small tune, you walked over to the worn mattress where a certain PL600 was, sitting down next to him.
But he immediately tensed up, unaware of who was near him. “Who’s there? [Y/n]?”
“Yes, it’s me, Simon.”
With a tiny sigh of relief, he relaxed, leaning against your shoulder and closing his eyes, even though it made no difference since his world was pitch black either way.
Ever since the events at the Stratford Tower that went horribly wrong, wherein he was left behind, discovered by the RK800 that was assisting the police, and unintentionally rendered himself blind out of fear Jericho’s secrets would be exposed…Simon only had you as his guide now–the light he needed in the darkness that plagued him.
When you found him in the evidence room and guided him back home, he was even more terrified of the dangers that were out there. To not see them whatsoever left him…depressed as well, considering that earlier Markus insisted he didn’t go with him, Josh, and North to the march in Woodward Avenue.
So you ended up staying with him in the hulls of Jericho, taking care of him and occasionally fixing up a few other androids that had either scrapes or minor dents in their skin. Just something to pass the time, although every moment you spent away from your lover worried you, as you feared he'd try to walk around on his own and end up hurting himself even more.

Fortunately, he was always sitting in the same spot where you left him.
As you gently wrapped an arm around Simon, brushing your hand through his hair, you could feel him nuzzle his face into your neck. You would’ve smiled at the gesture...had you not felt warm tears against your bare skin.
“Simon, what’s wrong, honey?” You wrapped your other arm around him protectively, pressing a kiss to the top of his head. “Talk to me.”
“You’re going to leave me, too, right?”
“Wha…no. No I would never do that. You honestly think I’d leave you just because you can’t see?” After prying his face away from your neck, you looked at him, your heart breaking as you saw wet trails staining his cheeks, his blue pupils glowing slightly.
“But I-I can’t do anything, [y/n],” he mumbled. “I can’t..march with my own people. I can’t fight alongside Markus. And I can’t even see your face. I’m.…useless."
“Don’t ever say that,” you hissed, bringing him back into a tight embrace, one that he returned as he snuggled his head into the crook of your neck. With a sigh you tenderly rubbed his back. “You’re not useless. You’re the furthest thing from that. No one's leaving you, Simon. They didn't abandon you.”
“Wh-What about on the rooftop? Markus-”
“He had to do that or else he, Josh, and North would’ve been killed. I’m sure that if they had more time they would’ve helped you jump along with them.”
Simon didn’t answer to that, as he already knew you were right.
After about a minute or so of silence, you pulled away a bit, keeping your arms wrapped around him, although you cupped his cheek to wipe away the tears with your thumb. You wished so badly he didn't blame himself for all of this. “Please don’t cry anymore. I know how badly you were waiting for this day to come…but I promise you will see your people become free. And no matter what happens…I won’t leave you alone in the dark, okay? I’ll keep you safe.”

You kissed his cheek once more, which earned you a tiny, warm smile from him. It was always his smiles that made you fall in love with him all over again.

"Thank you for being here, [y/n]." This time he brought you into his arms, holding you as if the world was going to rip you out of his grasp if he let go again. “I-I don’t deserve you, but…I don’t know what I’d do without you.”
