Description
Chocolate chunk peanut butter cookies with homemade whipped cream (i don;t like the canned stuff)The kids always prefer homemade cookies to shop bought biscuits after their morning cereal so thought i would make something different for them for a change.
Same recipe as the choc chip and cashew cookies but exchanged the chips and nuts for broken up chocolate bar chunks and added a couple tablespoons of peanut butter for a subtle taste, you could add 2-4 tablespoons if you like. Recipe in the photo below.

just like my youngest daughter the other day when we made thumb print cookies, she ate all the jam!

glad to hear that hahaha
Today in the morning I made a red velvet cake and left it in the fridge, I left to do some chores when I came home my sister and her friends had eaten all of it... now I wasn't mad because her friends said it was the most delicious thing they have ever eaten and that I bake better than their moms.
Now I have new tasters to sample my future goods.

now there's a compliment! I wouldn't be mad either, i would find it a good excuse to make it again and improve everything about it (i am a perfectionist)

Nice to see natural home-made food in photography instead of all that synthetic stuff you see in magazines.

i know exactly what you mean! i look at those magazines all the time but never for the food, they are always too perfect and identical to each other, no personality or individuality and now i am used to home cooking i know just how artificial they taste and how much rubbish are in them so only ever study those photos for the photography

When you find out how they really make them, with makeup, fake icecream, all that stuff, it's just so horrible! I'ts like the whole world prefers the perfect lie, to the more artistically imperfect, but intrinsically valuable real thing!
Keep up your, and I am sure I can say this because it is real, delicious work!

oh yes, when i first started food photography i did a little research and couldn't believe all the fake stuff that goes into it. To me, that is a waste of food so it kind of bugs me when people ask if my food is real or not (i thought the descriptions and categories would make that clear lol).

I think it defeats the whole purpose! What good is it that it looks great, but it's cardboard and clay! wtf haha And like I said before, you're legit, that makes your work a hundred times more valuable than those fakers. The things vanity will push people to do, just shameful u.u

i just got an odd comment from a cook saying from a cooks point of view my food isn't great looking but my photography makes it awesome, i said i am all about home, fun cooking giving life and identity to food i don't want to be a professional where all the dishes are the same old thing, i want to show people of a basic level like myself they can bake and with a bit of imagination make it special even if it's not perfect.

I would be willing to guess that the chef that said such things is one of those that works in the contemporary way: putting like 10 grams of meat and garnishing it with whatever plants and inedible things are around, splashing some sauce on the plate like it's paint or something, and putting it on a HUGE porcelain dish so that it looks stylish. I personally find that type of food to be of needlessly extravagant presentation, not even an anorexia patient could get full from eating one of those dishes! It's ridiculous!
They're lost the meaning of food, it's not to feed and nourish to them, it's to show off and charge $250 USD for a slice of SHRIMP SUSHI.

not really, not around the places i have tried around here anyway, i don't even think it tastes that great, a lot of it is re-heated.

So why is it that it is portrayed as the epitome of culinary achievement these days on TV, magazines, etc.?

i guess because it has become the norm, like pop music for example (which i detest by the way), the more people hear it on tv, radio, movies, shops, the more it is drummed into you maybe.

Haha well I have this thought, realistically speaking, the vast majority of people are unoriginal, dumb, and have bad taste. Guess who they cater to? They're obviously the biggest chunk of the market, consumerism doesn't give a damn about quality so long as it sells. Think "Nicki Minaj" for example : p
