Story: Lucas was quite stressed the day his old childhood friend Yuyu called him up and told him she would be moving to the same city as him and asked if they could room together. After all, Lucas was living in a spacious house provided to him by his wealthy parents and didn't really have any excuse to say no. Lucas and Yuyu's parents had been good friends since before they were born and the two of them had been almost like siblings growing up. Lucas knew his parents simply wouldn't have it if he refused Yuyu's seemingly innocent and good-natured request.

However, there was good reason for Lucas to be adamantly against rooming with Yuyu. Despite being "friends" in name , Yuyu and Lucas were polar opposites in terms of personality and Yuyu and had always been a bit of a menace to Lucas. As a child, she was lively and boisterous when in a good mood, but was also extremely bossy and controlling and quick to become a brat when things didn't go her way.

Lucas was in many ways the opposite - he was quite shy and timid and hated confrontation, making him an easy target for manipulative Yuyu. One of her favorite pastimes as a child was bossing Lucas around and teasing him. Most of their interactions as children would consist of her tying him up and treating him like a plaything or pet - indeed she had always had a sadistic streak in her. But while Lucas had always been a bit afraid of Yuyu, to her it was pure fun and games and she legitimately believed Lucas enjoyed it too - as he could never work up the courage to stand up for himself, despite actually being a year older.

Unfortunately, both Lucas and Yuyu's parents had always viewed their relationship as "cute" and never stepped in to defend Lucas. Thus, his almost subservient status to Yuyu had simply become accepted and almost celebrated among their families as a "unique and endearing" friendship.

It wasn't until Lucas turned 18 and went off to college that he was finally able to escape Yuyu's clutches for a long period of time. Lucas had always been very intelligent and practical - so much so that in his early 20s, just after graduating college, he had already achieved full financial independence without having to work. He lived solely on returns from index funds. Ever since he was a small child, he had been investing every cent of his (rather large) allowance from his wealthy parents, along with other money he earned from part-time work, birthday money, etc.

In other words, Lucas had it made. He spent his days pursuing hobbies and traveling while living in a decently-sized house his parents had bought for him. After a long childhood always feeling like a prisoner, he finally felt liberated. That is, until Yuyu decided she was going to move in with him.

The day she moved in was everything Lucas had hoped it wouldn't be. After living on his own for several years, Lucas had put a lot of effort into building his confidence and assertiveness, and he felt he had come a long way. He had made a lot of friends in his new neighborhood and had even went on quite a few dates. He had hoped this newfound confidence would change his dynamic with Yuyu and he could finally stand his ground. Unfortunately, he would turn out to be very, very wrong.
