Description One of only 3 ever built... the Fairbanks-Morse H12-44TS. Normal H12-44's did not have a short hood. These units produced specifically for switching passenger equipment at Chicago's Dearborn Street station had a steam generator under the short hood.

yeah... it was... It was the same way with catching the C&IM RS1325 and the Rock's EAB6's.

i don't believe so. Before posting I wanted to double check my memory so I searched the web for details. I'm glad I did because I thought there were only 2 of them, not 3. But all the links I chased down pointed to this being a standard H12-44 + steam generator. There may be more info out there. Let me know if you find out.
