I'm not sure if this is finished.
The light on the sofa looks more like snow to me . . . sigh. I think I'll need to work on it more.
I've got this thing about seating next to windows lately. Don't ask why. . I don't have an answer.
criticism appreciated.

I think the light is perfect, doesn't look like snow to me... I think is really great as it is and it surely gives me a feeling of a warm sunlight coming thru the window... I used to have one orange sofa in some other house I lived in, so I think this is just perfect... congrats...

nice job. you captured the mood and feeling quite well actually. i think it would be difficult to show the brightness of the light but you did a good job!

I keep looking at this one since you posted it on the 15th and find myself really drawn to it. I dont see the snow you do but rather a very intense radiant heat. I wanna go sit and soak up some that heat..the cool colours in the window actually turn me toward the sofa and the billowing of the leather around the back buttons really makes me want to touch it. Im very drawn to this one.....love it!!

I've received such positive responses to a painting I was about to give up on. I can't always see my work objectively.

I know you made some comments about the sofa, but I was really caught up with the windows. Actually what was going on outside. I really like what you have happening back there. Beautiful piece. Keep up the good work.

thanks for pointing out what I didn't see. It's odd how I can be so immersed in 'details' that I forget to look at the whole picture. . .even when I step back I sometimes can't 'see' well. hmmmm

you know, i really loved this one.. itΒ΄s even better than the chair, and i consider this one to be in the same style as the other.. i think the colors are what really caught my eye, but the fact is that the composition is brilliant too. i love pastels as you know so the technique is another high point to it.
keep up the good work, because it seems this could be a great series.
oh and now i noticed that the warm colors in contrast with the blue from outside is what gives this piece an unique feeling

I think we both like oranges and browns.
Thanks . . .I'm really pleased with the comments from you and kelso41.
After I work on a piece it's difficult to look at objectively. I sometimes see only flaws. I'm trying to work on that though.
At least I feel that it's worth finishing now.
