It took us a while but after humanity took to the stars we also started to encounter planets containing life, although this was a slow proces spanning thousands of years. After we claimed about 13400 planets we started to compare the lifeforms inhabiting them. Many shared a similair bodyplan to Terra-lifeforms. The lifeforms depicted above all convergently evolved to almost look like the now extinct cetaceans (Whales).

Earth was renamed to Terra in the year 3154 for convenience because there were are lot of extraterrestrial civilizations that named their homeplanet things like Urth, Urf, Earf and Ea-urf.
