Some say that madness is doing precisely the same thing over and over again, expecting a different result. I say that madness is evolution, madness is progress, and that madness describes a lot of the things we strive for. Without madness, we'd still have protruding foreheads and giant clubs that we'd drag back into our caves after our first (failed) hunt.

In this picture, madness is what will keep this person alive, though it's probably not the person you might think it is.

The man continues to get back up, time after time, despite the woman's opening fire on him. Why does he continue to go to her? Because he knows she can't be alone. He will not die, no matter how much she fires. He will get to her and embrace her, telling her everything would be alright. If it weren't for madness, the /woman/ would be the one dead, not the man.
