David Tennant was a wonderful actor to play the part of the Tenth Doctor. He prety much kicked off a new generation of Whovians after Christopher Eccelston's awesome work into breaking new life into the series. Tennant was definately very elastic in his facial expressions, very quick with his witty delivery and he could still carry out a very serious scene at the same time in no time flat. (And yeah Donna is still my fave companion of New Who. Suck it, Rose!...no offense to Rose fans.) 
Besides being Barty Crouch Jr. in "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire", you should check out his work on "Hamlet" as...well, Hamlet! Him and Patrick Stewart as Claudius are friggin' AMAZING.
