Wow looks great in those colours Actually reminds me of the CAC CA-23 an ambious Australian interceptor project that was ultimately canceled. Had it not been Australia might of had a more vibrant aircraft industry these days.

in real life,the Aussies did look at the Lightning,but it was considered too costly to operate....

no such things as "quick-fix" items on that one! but then,it was never really intended to go into mass-production in the first place...blast that White Paper of 1957!

Too true - and the design, while awesome, was uniquely difficult - fitting two engines in such a small space and not even allowing room for fuel was an incredible 'no compromise' approach, but in the end side-by-side designs were going to win out...
