Never heard Israeli Python missiles mounted on a Phantom.
Anybody here are from Israel? The Israeli Air Force might once use it in their Phantoms in old days.

Yes, and definitely a Cold War Warrior, and so many countries thought well of it also.
We had it Phantoms here too, but weirdly they insisted on changing the engines to Rolls-Royce, which was crazy because the air-frame had to be modified quite a lot to fit them inside. Eventually the powers that be saw sense and we ended up with General Electric engines.
On a final engine note - The RR engine had more power so the Navy's F-4Ks and F-4Ms could get off the ground quicker, but the GE engined F-4J was still faster at the top end... also weird...

I read somewhere that the cause of the RR engined Phantoms not achieving the same top speed of the GE ones, was the extra drag caused by the modifications required by the RR engines themselves, because the hind fuselage ended up being fatter.
I think the Phantoms are – of course – wildly outdated as air superiority machines, but by sheer looks and charisma in my opinion they are still absolutely awesome. A bit like Clint Eastwood: old, but you wouldn't mess with him anyway.
