I read somewhere that the British Army did experiment with an armoured car that used the "driver facing backwards driving by CCTV" configuration, but they had to scrap it because all the drivers got SERIOUSLY motion-sick!

Any chance of the Land Master from Damnation Alley in multiple versions or the Planet of the Apes spacecraft?

Actually that british army did experiment with the "sit facing backwards and drive by CCTV" configuration; they concluded that the driver would have to stop every five minutes to throw up!

Did anyone ever notice that "Captain Scarlet" shamelessly ripped off the best ideas from the Marvel Comics strip "Nick Fury; Agent of SHIELD"? Both stories featured flying aircraft carriers (Cloudbase/Helicarrier) and both had heroes who had the ability to apparently return from the dead; Scarlet through his regeneration ability, Fury because the bad guys would always kill his android double (his "Life Model Decoy") by mistake.

These sort of ideas are always floating around I think - I don't believe it was a deliberate rip-off...

The idea that the drivers etc also faced backwards and watched where they were going on monitor screens alwas seemed like a cool diea to me (As well as weird)
I think I'd fail as a driver, the whole concept of operating the vehicle like that just makes me motion sick thinking about it.
Awesome pic and thanks ever so much for brining back memories. Whut? I in't that old!@
Much cheers to you and yours.

Hey, the whole idea of being able to use the vehicle as a weapon, wasn't it supposed to have an armored prow to smash through things? Mr Anderson was full of unique ideas.
Much cheers to you and yours.

Captain Scarlet was another puppet show TV series from the same stable as Thunderbirds - all great stuff from the 60s and 70s. And thanks!
