Description
Did anyone besides me ever noticed that all of the legendary badass Pokémon shown above turn out to be some kind of desperate and misunderstood softies. I mean, SERIOUSLY! A dark, shadowy and kreepy master of nightmares shows up to PROTECT A GARDEN, a mutated alien virus shuts down a whole city to SEARCH FOR HIS DEAR FRIEND and a genmutated clone with motherf@cking psychic abilities realises he did bad and now wants to LIVE PEACEFULLY WITH HIS FRIENDS! WHAT THE HELL?!? Why can't they just be cool villains? Now that that's out of my mind I find the time for a big YAAAAAYYYYYYY for my second comic. And once again I drew legendary Pokémon. Do you think I might be addicted or something like that?
Anyway, I didn't color it this time cuz it took me long enough to make this so I hope you ENJOY!
By the way, you might not get the joke when you haven't watched the Pokémon Movies. If that's so, please do. They're awesome!
Mewtwo, Deoxys and Darkrai do not belong to me...sadly.

Not all of them. Mentally maybe for some of them, like Mewtwo for example. But in the technological regards, humans are completely superior, unless you want to count Mewtwo in that regard as well, seeming as he's the only pokemon that I've seen actually use a piece of technology.

You have a point, even though there are many Pokémon who have mashine-like qualities, so they might count as technology.

Machine like qualities, but not a mastery over other machines. There's a slight difference there. Yes, a Magnemite can harness electricity, but it doesn't use that electricity to turn a motor to turn a wheel. So that doesn't quite count.

We can create genocidal cyber-insects. Team Plasma proved that.
Ignore that top comment. Don't know what happened there.

I don't think Genesect is exactly genocidal. It's name comes from genetic + Insect, not genocidal. The two words have a similar base word in gene, but they're not the same.

Yeah, I'm aware of that, but it's more fun to think of it that way for me. Especially since it was made to be the strongest Poké by Plasma.

Well, in the japanese version of Mewtwo's movie he was just confused, and mew wanted to destroy the clones because it thought them inferior to non cloned Pokemon. America just thought mew was too cute to be evil I guess.
On topic of picture: I hope Genesect is a villain in it's movie.

Mew wasn't necessarily evil, but it did come off as snobby. I watched both the English and the Japanese versions, and I was quite surprised how many things they changed. Overall though, I still appreciate both versions. You could do a lot of cultural analysis just by comparing the two.

Wow, is that really true? Because I think that Mew really doesn't fit in the role of a villain. But you're right, Genesect should be one.

It's true, but they changed that for the American version of the movie. If they don't make Genesect the villian it wouldn't make sense, since humans practically tortured it.

Not necessarily evil, but Mew did have a pretty snobbish attitude. In the original Japanese, Mew tells Mewtwo that the clones will never defeat the originals because clones are inferior beings. In so many words, it was saying that clones don't deserve to be treated as well as other living beings.

Yes, the adorable little Mew was evil. I think it would have been better if they had kept the original plot for the english movie though.

So true. You'd think with all the hyperbole seen in the Pokedex entries, there'd be a Pokemon who was truly as menacing and malicious as its reputation suggests, but nope. Because of a single throwaway line in the original series stating that there's no such thing as "evil" Pokemon, they all have to be peachy-keen nice to everybody instead.

I totally agree, it makes me sick! The movies would have been a lot better if they'd let them be at least a little evil. I mean, if Darkrai can't be evil then who can? And it worked in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon, didn't it?

Genesect's next in line. Here's hoping he'll be the Pokémon equivalent to the Daleks...

They're a race of aliens in Doctor Who, a famous British sci-fi series. They are mutants who move around in metal casings, and have an intense hatred for everything that is not a Dalek and wish to exterminate all other life in the universe (to the point of their catchphrase being a metallic "EXTERMINATE!". Essentialy, think space Nazis crossed with Satan.

Ah, okay. Bon, les autres se moquent de Genesect parce qu'ils pensent que Genesect a l'air d'un cancrelat violet avec un canon. Et naturellement Genesect n'est pas d'accord.

You hit the nail right on the head here. You could add Giratina to the list, seeming as he is only rampaging because his big brothers were fighting, but the fact that he was "banished for its violence" seems to indicate that he's not nice enough.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
ClayPita In reply to ToaArcan [2012-03-03 13:22:33 +0000 UTC]
Hmm, maybe Giratina is something like a fallen angel/god that tried to betray Arceus and was banished for that. Palkia and Dialga were also violent, but they didn't betray their master.
